Healthy Through The Holidays

Day 1 of Pageant Prep - 117 days to go

5:00 am came out of no where. Who in there right mind wakes up this early for fun?! 

I jumped up on the first alarm, no need for a snooze, I got work to do. I only have about 2 hours to dive into my quiet time, workout, pack lunches, organize backpacks (or packpacks as my little girls calls them :) ), make breakfast, and pick out the kiddos clothes. No time to play. 

Next month I plan on working out to the new Insanity Max:30 with my Healthy Through The Holidays accountability group.  That doesn't come out until December 2nd, so I'm going back to an oldie but goodie that always kicks my rear - Turbo Fire! Chalene Johnson is a non stop punching, jumping, jammin' chick. I'm Ready! 


 
I down my E&E and boom, it's on! March 14th is right around the corner! My plan is to workout 6x a week and plan out my meals every week so that I have more opportunities to succeed than fail.

I want to be healthy not skinny, fit not slim, strong not thin. It is all a mental game and I am going to win!

Tonight for dinner is Tacos! I thought about using vegan cheese, but CJ gave me the side eye when I mentioned this and then started mubbling something about vegan and cheese being an oxymoron... sooo maybe not!

Here We Go!

I can not help but sing Nsync's Here We Go anytime I'm getting ready to do something big...Here we go, one more time, everybody's feeling fine, here we go now (yes yes yes here we go...Nsync has got the flow...)  I think it's my inner child's way of jumping with excitement!

I am about to do something that makes me scared, excited, nervous, vomitty, and pumped. I am going to compete in the Mrs. Alaska Pageant! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I know!

The pageant scene is not completely new to me. I did pageants in my teens and LOVED IT! I don't want to toot my own horn but I was kind of the best Miss Jr. Teen Anchorage ever (HaHa - just kidding! I fell on my face more times then once and usually answered most of my questions with "ummmmmmm")

Regardless, I loved the feeling and now that I am a mommy to my own little princess, the thoughts of doing pageants again is kind of exciting! I have to be honest though, I am a few pounds bigger than I was in my teens and have a few hundred more responsibilities. This is going to truly be a test!

I'm going to blog my way through it. Every workout, every dress fitting, every community commitment... everything! I am thankful to have my family backing me 100% and  to all of the Mrs. Alaska Pageant staff who reassure me that I'm not crazy for wanting to do this.
